Recipe for success

As planned Gaby, Diana, Diana’s mom, and I went on our hike. It was much needed, and we were really looking forward to go to Whittier Hills. Whittier Hills has beautiful sights! I loved going there.

I’ve come to the conclusion that exercising is more do-able when it feels light, easy, and fun. Friends make it especially enjoyable.

Sunday morning begun with a breakfast I’ve been craving.

Cottage Cheese and Eggs

This is a meal that reminds me of New York. I ordered this at a diner, which I can’t recall the name, the night Jessica, Ellis, Robert and I spent an all nighter strolling in the city.

The ingredients are simple, and it’s done in 1-2-3.

What you need:

1 egg

1 egg white

splash of milk (I used soy milk)

Olive oil

I combined the egg, the egg white, and the splash of milk in a bowl and whisked it all until it had some fluffy bubbles.

In the meantime the skillet was heating with the olive oil. Then, I poured the eggs on the skillet. Its just like making scrambled eggs.

I covered the skillet with a lid, and cooked it on low.

After a minute or two I flipped the egg to cook the other side. Covered the skillet again, and left it cooking for another minute.

Once it was ready I cleaned some of the excess oil with a paper towel, and topped it with 2-3 tablespoon full of cottage cheese on half of the egg. Then I folded the egg so that it looked like a folded cheese omelet.

You can add a little pepper or salt for taste.

After breakfast, which felt very light but gave me a lot of energy, I met the girls at Coffee Bean and took of on our little adventure.

Here’s a taste the day. I hope you enjoy it!

Good Morning!

I have like 20 minutes to say hello.

It’s so dark outside!!

MorningI have to go to class soon though.

In case you are wondering where I’ve been:

Story of life–>

Empty agenda. I haven’t even had the time write the things I have to do. I’m usually pretty good about this. I can’t live without my agenda.

Wednesday was my busiest day ever at my internship. I was the last one to get out of the office at 5:30. I even locked up! But I also got to get out of the office for a bit.

Cool huh! :)

I like what I do because it gives me the flexibility to get out of the office. I think I’ll go insane being locked up for 8 hours in an office, which is what I do on Thursdays for my part time job.

Last night I stayed up a bit late finishing yet another paper. I’m glad they are over. Err. I’m glad I get to breathe for a few days. I have a quiz next saturday for a change. Lol.

I’m stoked to go hiking this Sunday. I think hair is excited too!!

I hope it doesn’t rain…

I really want to show you guys more pictures of L.A. nature.

Something like this:

That’s Echo Park!

I wrote my paper on a character from the movie QuinceaƱera (good movie!), which was set in Echo Park.

Time to go to school.

I hope you all have a good Friday, yeay!

What kind of runner are you?

What happened to Fall weather?!

The weather in LA has been nuts. Dislike… Usually after Halloween, it starts getting chilly, and I need some chill time (literally and figuratively). It was 93 degrees yesterday and today’s weather promises a bright hot sunny day at 96 degrees. Wonderful.

I’ve been looking forward to cooler weather not only because I miss my sweaters but mostly because I need cooler weather to go for afternoon runs!

I haven’t been running since the end of summer and I miss it <3.

I consider myself a morning runner. I think it’s better to run in the morning because it’s cooler, and I can get just get it over with. It also gives me more energy, and I love how the breeze feels, and oh, the smell of fresh grass!!

Any ideas of what I can do while it’s still hot? Need some motivation.

Have a good day!

P.s. if you are planning of buying a movie online, double check it’s the movie and not the album. I had to buy a movie for class, and I accidentally downloaded the album instead of the movie… and it’s not great music… lol.

Berry Exciting!

My little brother and I were in the backyard observing this little guy:

I don’t know why but I think lizards are cute.

Then my little brother went to check out his berry tree. About a year ago, my parents bought him a tiny berry plant because he wanted one. My little brother is a fan of pink berry, and when he was younger he would always ask my parents to buy him a frozen yogurt with red berry toppings. “I want the red,” he would say. So, when he saw the berry plant he wanted one because he thought he would have pink berry with red all the time!

Since he got the plant, he checks on it every time he plays outside. (He also has a cherry tomato plant; and he actually picks them and brings them to us. He actually calls them “my tomatoes.”)

Today he checked, and here is how the excitement went!

The End!

(I know I’m a dork… :D)

In the car

Good morning! :)

It’s nice bright and sunny today. I luv it.

You know what’s weird… I’m actually writing this post in my car. I came out to work/internship too early. For once there was no traffic! I could get used to that. :-)

So while I wait for my coworker or for someone to open the office, I’ll just update you about this Halloween weekend.

silly me

I didn’t follow my halloween plans. I was just so tired from sleeping late waking up early everyday that I just fell asleep on Saturday. I probably slept since 5 pm til 9 am Sunday. It felt so good though.

On Sunday, I made myself a yummy breakfast. Peanut butter toast, oatmeal, banana, honey, and spiced pumpkin coffee.

After breakfast, I did some laundry and went for a bike ride. I took pictures but 1/2 of them got lost.

Here are some survivors:

I finally discovered where the "pro" bikers park.

Took this shortcut on my way back home.

I wasn’t planning on dressing up for Halloween, but then Joe and Jacky stopped by and convinced me…

But I still don’t have my pics. IOU!!

Time for serious work.

Don’t ruin my day…

I woke up at 5 am again like last Friday, and joined my mom for some coffee and pumpkin banana pudding for breakfast.

After getting ready for school, I checked my email and the grade for practice is in. I’m not too happy with the grade I got. I know I made some mistakes, but I think the professor was a little biased. She didn’t even write comments on my paper.

Wow. I really don’t like her. I think I’m blaming her for my lack of effort. I felt so miserable. I don’t know I think she is kind of weird though.

As we are talking about “intellectual functioning” her example was:

I have a client that graduated from Harvard law. Wouldn’t you rate the client’s intelligent level as high? And she is very smart, converses well with me, and she is younger than me too.

Wow. Can you come up with a better example. What about people that are in poverty and don’t have a degree?

Do you have a happy story for me? I need something to make me feel better.

Btw

When I was walking to my car from work (I work at sc), a young man stopped me. He asked if I knew where parkside was.

I was in a hurry and I couldn’t think of where it was, so I apologized and wanted to keep going my way, but he stopped me once again.

He wanted to know if I was a student and how come I didn’t know where parkside was…

at this point I’m getting annoyed.

I tend to be a really patient person, sometimes too nice I guess.

In short, one thing led to another point and he asked why do you want to be a therapists?!

(Really? Really? Ugh.)

(Do I really have to explain and justify my career choice?!)

(I just like what I’m doing at this point.)

I explained.

And he still wouldn’t get it.

He said he was an recent grad and had just landed a job a medical historian, and he asked: do you know what they do?

Me: I remember reading a bit about it, but not really.

Him: oh, me neither. I still have to see what’s about.

(…?)

What do you think of therapists/counselors?
